Chinon-Bellami-HD-1-Digital-Super-8-Camera-1

Stepping back into the 70s for fashion, music, or facial hair is always a welcomed journey. But the days of bell bottoms, mutton chops, and the Bee Gees were pretty rough on the home video front. 8mm cameras were very popular, but the footage featured more grains than your typical box of Alpha Bits. The new Chinon Bellami HD-1 Digital Super 8 Camera manages to capture all of the nostalgic warmth of the 8mm shooter, while still delivering 21st century-worthy HD video. The Chinon Bellami HD-1 can shoot 1080p video at 30fps, so it’s not bleeding edge, 4K type of stuff here; this is more about the camera’s unique aesthetics and the retro feel of the film. The Chinon Bellami HD-1 is only available in Japan right now, but look for it in the U.S. sometime this year at about $850.
