While filming for the series Penguins – Spy in the Huddle (Waddle All The Way), director John Downer and his team decided the best way to capture footage of penguins in their natural environment was to disguise one of their cameras as an egg. Little did they know, that would end up attracting the attention of a striated caracara, who thought it’d struck lucky and found a genuine abandoned egg. The bird ends up grabbing the camera in its talons and filming the “first ever aerial footage of a rockhopper penguin colony shot by a flying bird. Check it out below
